Teacher Spotlight is back!! Now, we will officially share our blog on our own website. Praise be to God!
God has been so faithful in providing teachers for every position this school year. We are proud of every teacher who is putting all their effort into teaching and loving our students from a biblical perspective.
So, we are very excited to announce who is back this year, but now in a different role… with great joy, we introduce to you Syndiana Kim, class of 2014. She is our current first-grade teacher and she has her B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Minor in Bible from Cedarville University. Before serving here, she has been teaching in public schools. This experience was very eye-opening for her and encouraged her to be a light to the people, especially children.
This is her experience:
“After graduating, I was stressed and worried about getting a job. As I was searching for job opportunities, I went into LinkedIn and found Profe Alicia\’s profile. Being her student during high school, and seeing her in my LinkedIn connections, something inside me urged me to talk to her.
I had never thought about teaching in the school that I grew up in.
As I approached her, she has asked me if I was interested in coming back to ACA to work as a 1st-grade teacher. I could not believe it and I did not see myself going back to ACA. I had never thought about teaching in the school that I grew up in. During this time, I realized how God had better plans for me than I did.
I could see that God was trying to teach me and show me that He has planned my life way before I was born and that I needed to trust Him and take the leap of faith. I was able to look back to my elementary years and how my 3rd-grade teacher has influenced me to be a teacher.
During this time, I realized how God had better plans for me than I did.
But I was afraid to come back and leave everything behind in the States, but God knew better and so here I am now sharpening minds.
Now, I enjoy the relationships I get to build with the staff. Not only with teachers but also with all the workers that help our school. I also enjoy building relationships with students of all grades, and especially my own kiddos. I enjoy the privilege to talk about God and teach the Bible truth to our kids.”
Dear Alumni… you will always be part of ACA and we would love for you to be part of our spotlight. If you are interested in keeping in touch with the school or to be the next spotlight, please fill out this form. We are overjoyed to catch up with you. Thank you!
