Reconnecting: Esther Lee
You have seen our Teacher Spotlight and our Student Spotlight; now it’s time for something new! We have our first Alumni Spotlight!
We would like to introduce to you, Esther Shi Eun Lee. She graduated from ACA in 2011 and was a “lifer”, meaning she attended ACA from Pre-K to 12th grade.
After graduating from ACA, Esther attended Franklin & Marshall College and graduated from there in 2016 with a degree in Sociology. She is currently pursuing her second degree in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and hopes to become a family nurse practitioner upon completing her education.
“When I think of ACA, I think of community. For me, ACA was an odd place full of people from many backgrounds and gifts, and somehow we all became part of a big family. Because of its smaller class size, I felt that the teachers and staff truly cared for each student and formed meaningful relationships with them. ACA provided me with an education that prepared me to succeed in college. I think it was partially due to the demanding curriculum set by the school, but a large portion of that was also because I was surrounded by extremely gifted classmates who all had high expectations and strove to do their best. I will always be thankful for that. To be quite honest, the thing that I enjoyed most about ACA was class! Some of my favorite memories involve having deep discussions with my classmates in Mr. Bigler’s English class, or dissecting tiny chicken hearts with Mr. Janz in biology, or finding limits (for both calculus and Ms. Mac’s tolerance for my classmates’ shenanigans) in math class.”

“I’d like to think of the Alumni & Teacher Association as an extension of the community we created during our time at ACA. I am hoping that the organization will help alums and teachers connect with each other, help newly graduated students navigate through life in college and beyond, provide networking and mentorship opportunities, and also contribute to ACA’s continued growth and flourishing.”
Please consider joining us! The Alumni and Teacher Association is seeking to establish a network of previous students and teachers who have the shared experience of being a part of the ACA community at some point in their lives. We would love to reconnect and reminisce about the past, but we also want to support and encourage each other, no matter what your journey has been after ACA.

We also want our current students to know they are part of a rich legacy, and that we are here to support them while at ACA and beyond. If you would like to be a part of this and explore ways to give back to the community that has given so much, please fill out this form listing your contact information.
