From Art to Grammar – Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Friesen
Ms. Leti Friesen is our High School English teacher! She has worked at ACA for five years but has not been the High School English teacher that long. She has also been a secretary and the Art teacher. ACA was her first job, while she was going to school to get her degree in English (Bilingual Education) and Especializacion at Didactica Universitaria.
When she started college she was taking classes towards both Art and English, but quickly knew she needed to choose one. She chose English, but her art background was put to good use! After working at ACA for two years as a secretary, she moved into the Art teacher position where she mostly taught Elementary students and some Junior high students.
Ms. Friesen\’s experience
“I really enjoyed it, but I knew I was called to work with the upper classes. I also finished my English degree at that time. When Mr. Retzer offered me a position as the HS English teacher, I knew that it was God calling me into that position. Over the years I have developed a passion for language, especially grammar (I know it\’s not for everyone), and I love working with older kids.”

“What I enjoy most about working at ACA is that it is an environment where you are pushed to grow. Being surrounded by so many teachers, staff members and students who seek the Lord is really encouraging. I love spending quality time with students. They are really amazing!”
\»ACA has formed me professionally and spiritually, and I am thankful for that\»
“Throughout the years God has guided me, trained me, polished me and prepared me, and he has used ACA to do that. I know he will do it in the future as well. I owe everything in my life to him, and I want to live my life for him! When I was younger, I never dreamed to be where I am right now, but I know that God\’s plans for me are better than my own! ACA has formed me professionally and spiritually, and I am thankful for that.”
