Becoming a real Christian – Student Spotlight: Moises Kim

We would like to introduce you to Moises Kim. He is currently a senior at ACA, STUCO president, and a “lifer”. He has attended ACA for his entire school career, Pre-K to senior year. Looking back at his time at ACA, what Moises has enjoyed the most about ACA are the relationships between the students and teachers and the Christian education that is provided. Here is Moises’ personal testimony: 

I was born in a Christian/Missionary family that was living in Paraguay. I think this was a huge blessing because I got to see and know about the two different cultures and be a part of it. Although I was born into a Christian family, my relationship with God was not that great and I had my ups and downs. 

Throughout the years, I have become accustomed to God and thought about him as just a routine and part of my life. I went to Him only when I needed something or in camps. If someone asked me how I received Christ, I would say that throughout the years I just met Him and believed in Him. This is what used to be my testimony. But during a school break in  2019 I was able to truly experience who God was and what His plan was for me. I was able to truly see the immeasurable love He had for me. It was overwhelming. During this camp, we watched the Disney movie “Inside Out”. This, in some ways, explained what meeting God was like. The main character had 5 major memories that determined who she was. There, I was able to make a permanent memory and instead of just casually getting used to God I was able to experience his grace and mercy.

I realized it was God who was working and it was God who was watching over me all this time. Now I seek to constantly give Him the glory and thank Him for everything, even the small things in life.

Just being here and having the opportunity to write this testimony shows His mercy and grace. I could have died in my sleep or might have had an accident, but I am here writing this. Many times I would think that because I am great and I am awesome that I can do all these things. But in the end, I realized it was God who was working and it was God who was watching over me all this time. Now I seek to constantly give Him the glory and thank Him for everything, even the small things in life.

It\’s God who helped me get here at ACA, and without Him I wouldn\’t be even close to where I am. Because of this, I constantly remind myself of all the things God has done and am thankful that he has provided all of these blessings to me and that there are more than what I deserve.
